Napa Valley quake Update
Based on initial assesments, the Napa Valley earthquake on Sunday did only minor damage to Victor-based Constellation Brand’s holdings in California’s wine country, a company spokesperson said Monday.
“We are still assessing the full extent of the earthquake’s impact on our operations. However, at this point we believe the impact to be minor,” Constellation Brands’ spokesperson Amy Martin said. “Most importantly, we are relieved that our employees and their families are all safe, and we are fortunate that the earthquake occurred overnight, when our facilities were closed.”
The company reported some damage inside some of its wineries but said none had sustained “structural’’ damage and that the vineyards were not adversely affected.
Constellation owns the Robert Mondavi, Clos du Bois, Estancia and Ravenswood labels and had wine sales of $586 million in its most recent quarter, about 38 percent of total spirits sales.
